Research Profile of Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singh


I started my teaching and research career at the age of about 25 year in year 2004 (after passing M.Sc-Physics in the year 2003)as Lecture of Physics, Patna Women’s College, Patna University(NAAC accredited ‘A’ grade and Potential for excellence status higher education institution, accorded by UGC).I have guided/completed 14 Ph.D. theses, 45 M.Tech Research project theses and 18 UG Research project under College with Potential for excellence status, accorded by UGC & Basic Scientific Research (NAAC-A grade scheme) till Aug. 2021. At present 8 Ph.D. and 6 M.Tech and 3 Ph.D students are working under my supervision.  I have published/ written research article about more than 100  in  peer reviewed journals. Total google scholar citation as of  till June 2020 is about 600  and h-index is 15.

Research Establishment

I. Established a very good 6 Nanomaterial research laboratory at Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna as a Professor in charge-Establishment/ Head/ Inchare- Academic. Such innovative practices was visited by Hon’ble Sri Nitish Kumar Ji,Chief minister, Bihar; Dy-Chiefminister, Hon’ble Sri Sushil Kr Modi, Education minister, Hon’ble Sri K N P Verma Ji other dignitaries and eminent academicians of international repute.

II. During my Doctoral research at Department of Physics, Patna University, Science College and department of Physics, Patna Women’s College, Patna University, I contributed a lot for setting up the facilities of nanomaterial science research.

III. I am grateful to Dr. Sister Doris D’Souza, Principal, Patna Women’s College, Patna university for giving responsibility of initiating, Journal Explore and IRIS as my one of the 1st research exposure. First research paper published in the journal Explore and IRIS encourages me for scientific research and innovations. I worked hard for ISSN. to online availability of this journal.

IV. Delivered more than 150 lecture in different parts of country on Physics education, Nanotechnology research, Ethics in Science & Technology till March 2020.

V. At present, I am working in area of Research- Magnetic Nanomaterial, Nanotechnology in Ayurveda science, Nanotechnology in Food & Agriculture, Physics education, Nanotechnology in Environment and water science etc.

This is the1st frontier areas of subject of 21st century as cutting edge Research Centre in university of Bihar, which was initiated by Department of Education, Govt. of Bihar. Dr. Rakesh has been taking responsibilities as a founder teachersfrom the period of foundation of Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna.
